Little Art Lab promotes creativity and self-expression. We provide guidance along the way, helping students explore their ideas through different techniques and media. Students will learn to use different equipment in their painting, drawing, and craft activities. The practical skills give students confidence in expressing their thoughts and to communicate effectively. The course will also expand the students’ knowledge of the art world.
In each themed lesson, we combine literacy or science to learn about the world and find inspirations around us. Students will have fun making art in a relaxing environment in a small group.
Students get to experience different forms of visual art. Being familiar with the materials helps them build confidence in using different media. It expands their minds, allowing them to make connections and become creative.
AGES 5+
Children this age are starting to create artwork that resembles the object. Students are still keen to experiment. As they grow, they learn to appreciate form, colours and have higher expectations for their work.
We start introducing simple techniques while allowing room for creativity. Guidance is given to refine their work according to their level. They can try things out, make mistakes and learn to problem-solve. We look at different styles of art and learn to appreciate them. Our lessons include painting, drawing, collage, sculpture, artist reference, and craft.
AGES 8+
Children this age often appreciate realistic work. They are more focused and patient with their work, and their observation skills are maturing. They sometimes hold a high standard of themselves so having self-confidence in art making is very important for this age group.
We introduce more drawing and skill-based projects at this age as they are more in control of their fine motors and can review their own work. Lessons include drawing, painting, watercolour, collage, sculpture, artist reference, and craft.
AGES 11+
Children at this stage are increasingly drawn to the visual arts and are becoming more adept at expressing themselves in subtle and intricate ways. They are able to observe and describe the world around them with greater precision and attention to detail. Additionally, they have more control over their fine motor skills, enabling them to create artwork that is more complex and refined.
We will emphasize the technical aspects of drawing and painting, including the essential concepts of composition, color theory, and other fundamental principles of art. Children will be encouraged to unleash their creativity and develop their own unique artistic style by utilizing the techniques they have learned.
